New South Wales (NSW) Curriculum
The New South Wales (NSW) curriculum focuses on building strong foundations in English and Mathematics while developing essential knowledge and skills that prepare students for future learning and real-life challenges. It emphasises key capabilities such as literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and intercultural understanding, ensuring students are equipped to thrive in a dynamic world.
At our school, we deliver the NSW curriculum through the following core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Human Society and Its Environment, Personal Development Health (PDH).
English and Mathematics are assessed using in-school NAPLAN-style tests, helping us track progress and ensure students are meeting national benchmarks in literacy and numeracy.
Co-curricular subjects: ICT (Information and communication technology), Myanmar, Social Studies, Chinese, Art, Music, PE (Physical Education)
These subjects are taught using a student-centred approach that encourages inquiry, collaboration, and real-world application.

Our teachers use a variety of strategies to assess student learning. These include observing work in class and looking closely at tasks throughout the year.
Twice a year, teachers formally assess a student’s achievement based on the outcomes described in the syllabus of each subject. A written report using the common grade scale is sent to the parents in the first half of the year, usually near the end of Term 2, and again in Term 4. This gives a clear picture of your child’s learning.
